SEC. 73-11-53. Resident trainee for practice of funeral service or funeral directing.
(1) A person desiring to become a resident trainee for the practice of funeral service
or funeral directing shall make application to the board. Such application shall be
sustained by the licensee under whom the applicant is serving, and shall be accompanied by
a nonrefundable application fee in an amount set by the board in accordance with Section 73-11-56. When the board is
satisfied as to the qualifications of an applicant, it shall issue a certificate of
resident traineeship. No credit toward the resident traineeship will be allowed prior to
the receipt of a properly completed application and applicable fee at the board office.
(2) The board shall have the power to suspend or revoke a certificate of a resident
traineeship for violation of any provision of this chapter.
(3) A resident trainee who has allowed a certificate of resident traineeship to lapse
or who has had a resident traineeship suspended or revoked, may, within one (1) year after
such lapse, suspension or revocation, make application for reregistration, but no more
than two (2) such consecutive registrations shall be allowed by the board.
